I love this little girl!!!

Kaylee cracks me up. She is always changing and is learning something new all the time. She has rolled from belly to back a few times and almost from back to belly (if it wasn't for that arm). She doesn't quite have the hang of it yet but she is almost there. Kaylee has started blowing raspberries at us. It is so cute and she has learned to do it when she wants attention. If I'm in the kitchen and she is in her swing, you will hear her start blowing raspberries. Sooo funny... Anyway, here is a video of Kaylee blowing raspberries.

Three months old...

Wow… I can’t believe how fast Kaylee is growing. I can’t believe that she is already three months old. This is defiantly an exciting time and there is always something new happening. We had Kaylee’s first professional photos taken on Saturday and she did great. She was all about smiling and looking at the camera. She wasn’t shy at all; probably because she has only had a camera in her face everyday since she was born :)

We started blowing raspberries at her at her last week and she loves the noise. Today, she started doing it back to us. It is so cute and she makes a slobbering mess, but we love it.

Kaylee has almost mastered rolling from back to belly. She gets all the way over and is laying flat on her stomach, but her arm is still going across her so her shoulder ends up being all whopper jawed. About this time is when she starts screaming. I keep telling her she has to TUCK the arm and roll lol. She will get it sooner or later no doubt.

She doesn’t like to lie on her stomach for tummy time for very long, but she loves to lie on her back with her hands and feet in the air. She is still very fascinated by her hands.

Josh and Kaylee have a regular routine in the mornings now. When Kaylee gets up, they go into the OSU room and sit in the oversized chair and watch SportsCenter while she drinks her bottle. I think she definitely knows the SportsCenter music.

I am now only working 3 – 12 hour shifts. This gives me an extra day at home with my precious little girl.

Okay, that’s all I have for now, check out her very cute 3 month baby pictures.

Back to work...

Well I went back to work on Monday. It went pretty good. I have had to leave Kaylee for clinicals for 8 hours before, so I was use to it for the most part. Tuesday was another story... That was a 12 hour shift for me, and it was two days in a row away from Kaylee. On top of that, a storm knocked out the baby sitters phone for a little while (thank goodness for cell phones). Kaylee did fantastic at the baby sitters. They are both family, so everything went smooth. Kaylee has other kids there to entertain her all the time. Even though she did fine at both places, she was glad to get home to mommy and daddy:) This is certainly an adjustment period, but like everything else, we will get through it. Needless to say, I have barely set her down today. In fact, I am typing this one handed because she fell asleep in my left arm and she is too cute to lay down. The next 6 days are going to be rough. I work 2 days, then have clinicals 2 days, then work 2 more days before a day off with Kaylee.

We have had a busy two weeks. We went to the Jazz and Rib Fest downtown. Josh and I had a blast eating our favorite ribs that only come to town once a year. Kaylee enjoyed people watching and riding around listening to Jazz in her stroller. We got our ribs, found a grassy area under a tree, stretched out and listened to the music. It was great.

All last week we had a camp meeting at our church. We spent practically all day every day at the church so we had a nice little set up for Kaylee including her swing, bassinet, activity gym, and toys. Kaylee started working hard at rolling over. I think she is getting real close to conquering that feat.

Lastly, we went to the fair. We had a blast there too. Of course we ate some good food, but we also had a portrait of Kaylee drawn (too cute). Daddy bought her a shirt that says "I just did a Michigan in my pants". That's a true Ohio State fan :) We also got a picture frame with her name cut into it.

Some little tid bits of information:
  • Kaylee is holding her head up real well. She is just a little wobbly now and then.
  • Her neck and back strength is getting better. She can sit in her bumbo seat.
  • Josh bought her a Glow Worm that plays lullaby's that she absolutely loves.
  • Still has not found her thumb, but she has downsized to two fingers.
  • She is just a happy baby, always smiling.

Two months and one week old...

Boy do I have a lot to talk about. I cannot believe Kaylee is two months old. She is so fun to watch and play with. I cannot believe how much she is changing, and all of a sudden. Her hair is getting darker and filling in. She is filling out and getting bigger. At her doctors appointment she weighed 10lbs 14 ounces!!! Every moment with her is exciting, even if she is just taking a nap in my arms. She got her first set of immunizations on Monday. She let out one really, really big wail and held her breath, then mommy scooped her up and she did a few "gotta catch my breath" type sobs. Almost immediately after I picked her up, she calmed down. Mommy rescued her, so she was happy (or at least as happy as she could be at that moment:). All in all, she did really well and I was very thankful for that.

We decided we were going to pierce her ears after she had her shots, so we waited about 5 days and then took her to the mall for the first time and had her ears pierced. She did really well with that too. I had to hold her while they pierced her ears because Daddy was afraid he wouldn't hold her tight enough :) Sooo, Josh had the all important job of standing right next to her talking calmly to her. He stood by with her bottle for after we were done. As soon as she had her ears pierced, I held her and talked to her and then Daddy gave her a bottle and all was better. I have to say, she is so darn precious with those ears pierced.

Josh got to spend some time with Kaylee all by himself today for about 9 hours while I was in clinical. They had a fantastic time (no doubt sports center was part of the day lol). I did pretty good as well. That was my first time leaving her for that long of a period of time. Josh sent me picture mail and I called a few times :) This is soon to be an everyday thing because my time at home with Kaylee is winding to an end (very quickly). Time with her flies by so quick when I'm at home, I'm almost afraid to see how fast it goes with me going back to work... However, if I want to continue to buy this little one all the cute stuff I see for her, I'm pretty sure I need to go back to work. What can I say...Its an ADDICTION!!!

Some things to mention...

  • She is just starting to grow out of newborn clothes and can wear 0-3 month clothes and some 3 month clothes!!!
  • She is into the next size diaper.
  • She is starting to bat at toys with her hands.
  • She is getting better at taking longer naps during the day instead of power naps.
  • She still sleeps through the night (yay).
  • She loves all mirrors
  • She has figured out that when she kicks her feet in the bouncer, the bouncer bounces... It sounds funny, but she always like the bouncer because it has that soothing vibration. Now she finds it fun too...
  • She thinks its funny when Josh rubs her head... It makes her laugh.
  • She is starting to get the hang of laughing and it is sooo adorable.
  • She still hasn't found her thumb, but she is very content with her whole fist in her mouth.

Although I could go on and on (and on, and on, and on) about every little detail of this amazing little girl, I will not subject anyone to me talking (or typing) for that long. ~~~ your welcome lol.

Okay, on to the pictures...

I just love how big she is getting.

8 weeks (and a couple days)

So this post is really late for her 8 week post. It’s been a very busy week. I started back in school, went to my sister-in-law's baby shower and we were planning a get together at our house for Josh's 30th birthday. Josh's birthday was yesterday and we had about 30 people at our house for a cookout. It rained like crazy all day and made for an interesting day. The rain cleared up about an hour before the party, which was perfect. We had lots of great food and one awesome cake. Josh's 4 year old nephew sang happy birthday to him for his own special birthday present (it was so cute).

Kaylee is getting so big. We are estimating her weight around 11-12 lbs. She is becoming quite the little character and always makes us laugh. She loves to smile, is learning to giggle, and eats like a champ. Her laughing is so cute. You can tell she wants to laugh but cant quite get it out yet. She is really finding her hands very fascinating. She is trying to learn how to suck her thumb but just ends up with half her fist in her mouth because her thumb is tucked under her fingers. Kaylee gets her shots tomorrow :( I hope Kaylee will do great (I hope I will do okay too).

The fourth of July was very relaxing. There was a last minute block party in our court with all of our neighbors that turned out really well. We all gathered under tents and talked and ate all day. We then got news that my next door neighbor had her baby (on the fourth!!). At the end of the night, we watched the Grove City fireworks from court with a perfect view. Kaylee was a hit with the neighbors.

Okay, enough chatting. PICTURE time :)

Zoe Zo... The gentle giant. She just lays there next to Kaylee. She is so gentle with her. Kaylee is laying there watching the ceiling fan.
Kaylee is working on her head strength. She is doing very well.

She is getting tired. But she has switched from working on her neck strength to working on finding that thumb.

Getting a little more tired...

Totally pooped, but still trying the hand.

Josh's cake...It was YUMMY!!!!

7 Weeks Old

We are looking forward to the next couple of weekends. This weekend Josh gets a long weekend because of the holiday. I think Kaylee is looking forward to Sports Center with Daddy on Friday morning, lol. We will be cooking on the grill, relaxing, and enjoying the fireworks of red, white and boom, although it will be on TV this year :) This weekend will also bring stressful nights of being kept up all night, but not from Kaylee. This weekend will be dreadful for Petey! He is extremely sensitive to fireworks and if the neighbors let off fireworks all weekend like they did last year, this will be a bad weekend. I will have to make sure I have Benedryl on hand for the little guy to help him calm down.

Next weekend we will be celebrating Josh's 30th birthday!! We are expecting around 30 people at our house and we are going to have an evening cookout with family and friends. Kaylee will love this no doubt. She is all about attention.

Speaking of the little princess, Kaylee is putting on weight now. I cannot wait until her next appointment to see how much she weighs. She has realized that she loves to eat. Her face is filling out and her thigh's have a little roll (so freakin' cute!!). We have a little routine in the morning and it is the best way to spend the first few minutes of being awake. In the morning when Kaylee wakes up, she is a little ray of sunshine. She is always a little ray of sunshine, but this is especially cute. I put her on the changing table and always say "good morning princess". This always brings this great big smile that just melts my heart. She then continues to smile, grin, and sometime a squeal will slip out. This morning I got the smile, grin, squeal, and a big yawn. She then spends a few minutes in her crib, mesmerized by her mobile and I go let the dogs out and get her bottle. I can hear her little squeals and her babbling about her mobile. I go back upstairs and give her her bottle and she is happy as a clam. She hasn't started laughing yet, but I think she is getting there. Her little squeals are starting to last longer or have another sound attached to the end that makes it sound like she is trying to laugh. So it ends up sounding something like a squeal with a little hiccup at the end.

Here are some adorable pictures. I love how she is just starting to stare at the camera.

This is the big yawn I got this morning. Baby yawns are so precious.

Here is the morning squeal and smile. Such a good way to spend the morning.
I love how she just stares and grins. I took at least 25 pictures of this pose.
I just love how her face is starting to fill out. (That's Daddy's chin)

She is holding a little stuffed doll that says "my first doll". It has a rattle in it and she loved watching it for the longest time.
I cannot post enough pictures of this smile. I love it...
You can tell how she is filling out in this picture.
Check out her little thighs. There is her very first roll!!!
