Pictures!!!

We had Kaylee's pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. I'm running a little behind with posting to the blog. There are so many things going on right now. Josh is back in school as of today and I started my critical care class last week. Kaylee has been running a fever since yesterday and is not feeling well at all. My clinical's are in Chillicothe and are 12 hour days (boo!). However, the end is in sight and soon I will be out of school, Josh will graduate with his degree in finance in December, and he will be starting grad school in January.

Kaylee has some new favorites. She absolutely, positivity loves going to the park. She confidently climbs up the stairs (with one hand on the handles, the other firmly in mommy's or daddy's hand). She gets to the top and sits down and scoots to the top of the slide. She takes off down the slide and comes running back around to do it again. She loves the slides! At some of the parks we go to, there are bridges to run across, tunnels to crawl through, big slides to go down with mommy and daddy, swings, giant tic-tac-toe games, a lots more to do. We took her to Fryer park where there is a pond, walking paths, multiple play grounds, and lots and lots of grassy area for her to run around and play. That's another favorite of Kaylee's, she is Miss Independent and doesn't want to hold your hand. She holds our hand when she is out and about in stores and on pathways and stuff; but when you hit that grass, she yanks her hand back and takes off running. We bought her a small climber and slide that we can keep inside on those painfully hot days and when it is ridiculously cold in the winter!

She also has a cozy coupe car. This is so funny to watch her play with this. She walks around and says bye, bye and kisses you and gets in her little car. Right now she can only go backwards in the car but it has a foot board that you can put in place so you can steer her around.

Kaylee is also doing something that I think is rather adorable! If you are holding her and not looking directly at her, she will grab you face with both hands, turn your head, and plant a big kiss on you. Her little way of telling you she loves you. She does it when we are cuddling at night before she goes to bed. She likes to cuddle up in that space between your neck and you shoulder with your chin resting on her forehead. If you turn your head to rest away from her's, she will sit up, turn your head, give you a kiss and snuggle up again. I tell you...it just melts your heart.

We went back to the zoo last week and Kaylee finally got to see the polar bears. She loved the elephants this time as well. We bought her a little stuffed elephant named “ellie”.

Other tid bits

  • She tries to say "GO BUCKS", and is doing pretty darn well at it...Daddy is helping her get ready for football season....GO BUCKS!!!
  • She sleeps with her favorite little bear...His name is Bear, Bear...Original right? Hey, that's what she calls it, that's what his name will be.
  • She walks around saying hi to the dogs all day and has started hugging them...The dogs are getting use to it :)
  • She loves hitting the rock...With everyone...Could be a waitress, people at church, the dogs, lol.
  • She enjoys showing people where their nose is.
  • She likes showing off her belly button…She says “bhay buh”
  • She likes music a lot...she loves to dance.

There are lots and lots of things I could go on about, but my sick little girl just woke up and demands cuddle time.

Enjoy the pictures!

Second trip to the zoo...

Busy Days

Boy how I wish there were more time in the day. I would say that I would spend it updating this blog more often; but lets be honest, I would just spend it with my wonderful husband and awesome daughter! You would be disappointed in me these days because I haven't been taking near as many pictures as I normally do. We have been very busy and Kaylee is extremely quick so a lot of my pictures that I did take have turned out blurry or her looking away from the camera :(

A few of these pictures are from the Jazz and Rib Fest (which was yummy by the way). Kaylee loved this grassy area that we sat down and ate picnic style. We took her new wagon and she loved it! It was her first real trip in the wagon and it is soooo much better than the stroller. We also went to the Ohio State Fair with the wagon and was perfect when she wanted to lay down and take a nap. This wagon has wonderful features like padded seats, seats that lay down, and one of the seats is adjustable to face either way and to become a table. It also has a removable canopy that shades Kaylee from the sun. This was a great purchase that we will be able to use for a while.

Kaylee is doing many new things now. She is talking more and saying Mommy a LOT more now (yay!). In fact she frequently says "my mommy, my mommy" and it just melts my heart. She knows a lot of words and it seemed to happen rather quick that she picked this up and started talking so much.

Things she loves to do...
  • Kaylee loves to hit the rock.
  • She loves to give kisses that make the smacking sound.
  • She knows where her ears, nose, mouth, head, toes, belly button (which is her favorite), tongue, hands and feet are.
  • She prays.
  • She loves her swimming pool and loves to run around the back yard.
  • She has 13, maybe 14 teeth (she is a little sensitive about letting me check when they are coming in).
  • She loves blowing kisses to everyone, even complete strangers!
  • Kaylee's favorite word right now is baby (or as Kaylee would say it, baay-bee).
  • She loves books!
  • She loves wearing hats.

I'm sure there is a lot more to tell but I'm sleepy and this was meant to be a quick post :)

Enjoy the pictures!

True to my word...This girl loves her hats.
This day we snapped pictures of the whole process of her showing off her hat.

So darn cute, right?

This is Kaylee's morning look. PJ's and all!
I think the shirt is appropriate, don't you?

Pictures!!!

First Visit to the Columbus Zoo!!!

Some animals Kaylee really enjoyed seeing.

Kaylee's first Dippin' Dots experience...I think she likes them :)

Notice how she has her hands behind her head? She does this all the time :)
Kickin' back and watchin' the gorilla's with Daddy.
She was not really sure about this statue....lol
A moment when she finally see's the animal in the exhibit...
Not seeing it....Still not seeing it....

Ohhh....I see it now!!!!
Trying to pet the bird behind the glass...She liked this guy because he stayed there the entire time.
She loves her hat.... if we took it off, she put it back on...
"I'm not putting my hand in the Gorillla's hand Dad!!!"
She liked the ground around the stinky flower because it was soft. She had to feel it of course. She likes to investigate things :)
The stinky flower....
We had a blast at the zoo. Kaylee did a lot better than I thought she would. We were there from 1030-5 and she only conked out for about an hour while Josh and I ate lunch. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of Kaylee's new wagon...This thing will be awesome. I never knew wagons came with soooo many features. It should be here today and will definitely be joining us for our next trip to the zoo very soon. I also love that I'll have a place to put a small cooler...a bottle of water at the zoo was $2.85... wowza!!!! Plus there are many great places to sit and eat a picnic and I can pack way tastier food than the zoo can offer :)

After the zoo, Kaylee stayed up to watch the Grove City fireworks. She loved them!!! Right after the last firework in the finale went off, she fell asleep in her stroller while we stood talking to our neighbors for a few...She had such a big day :)

FIRST HAIR CUT!!! (in reverse order)

She had a blast

Of course, she wants to do it....Miss Independent!!

Fun times :)

Josh and I both agree that being Kaylee’s mom and dad is the most wonderful gift in the world. She is her own little person now and everyday is fantastic with her. She is learning and trying so many things. It is amazing how she has turned that corner from baby to toddler so quick. Every minute of every day is a blast with her.

She is learning the “head, shoulders, knees and toes” song and can point to her head, nose and eyes now. Her vocabulary is growing and it seems like every day brings out a new word. She loves to play tag with us.

Bath time is a hoot with her. She goes crazy smacking and splashing the water. We bought her a baby pool that she just loves and does the same thing. This was the first time she has experienced water that comes out of a garden hose (since it is much colder than her bath water) but since it splashed like the bath tub she warmed up to it very quickly. She loved getting out of the pool, running in the yard, and then getting back in the pool. It’s a blast.

She loves going to the park. She loves swinging and has recently discovered the slide. We are looking into getting something for the back yard because she has so much fun playing at the park. The patio swing was her favorite, but it is not as much fun to her anymore.

She is a little eater now. She LOVES green beans (she might very well turn into one because she eats that many). She also loves mac and cheese, eggs, toast, yogurt, carrots, chicken, pineapple, as well as cheese and crackers.

She is still being stubborn about saying mama :( She knows how to say it and what it means, but just doesn’t say it that often. I do get kisses and hugs like crazy and she is all about me or Josh if others are around…I can handle that..lol. She is a daddy’s girl to boot; I’m chopped liver when daddy is around (ok, maybe not chopped liver, just mommy dramatics!). She leans forward out of Josh’s arms to give me a kiss and high fives, etc, but then darts right back to daddy and giving him a gigantic hug.

Tid bits....

She is off formula…yay!
She is facing forward now in the car.
She loves turning off light switches.
She wears 18-24 month clothes.
She is in a size 5 diaper
She is almost in a size 5 shoe.
She can shake your hand.

After we change her diaper, she will take her diaper to the trash can and the wants to wash her hands with us.

FIRST HAIR CUT

We took Kaylee to get her first hair cut on Monday. We took her to Cookie Cutters, which she loved. They had an indoor playground and slide that she played on with daddy. She got to sit in a fancy car and was given a box of toys that she could play with. It was great because there were a lot of distractions for her so she didn’t have to focus on the strange lady with the scissors coming at her head. It was trimmed up and looks a lot cleaner now. We will still be doing ponytails until Kaylee can leave the clips that go in her hair alone. We want her hair to grow out a little longer so that we can do more things other than put it in a ponytail.

As soon as I get the pictures off of the camera and onto the computer, I will post TONS of pics :) I'm just having way too much fun playing with Kaylee and enjoying this beautiful weather!!
